Biomectrics & RFID
Biometrics & RFID
Biometrics is basically a method of identifying an individual any unique physical characteristics of their body. Biometric methods help in ensuring maximum accuracy in identifying a person such as Fingerprints, Iris (eyes), voice patterns, facial patterns. Radio Frequency identification (RFID) is a generic term that is used to describe a system that transmits the identity of an object or person wirelessly using radio waves such as Access management and Attendance devices.
Biometric & RFID Technologies
Access Control Management, Tracking of goods, Attendance devices, Car parking control, Toll collection, Fingerprints, Eye retina (Iris), and Facial patterns. These types of technologies are called auto-ID techniques Some auto-ID technologies such as bar code system often require a person manually scan a label or tag to capture the data. RFID is designed to enable readers to capture data on tags and transmit it to a computer system without needing to be involved.
Access Control System
Access control is a system which enables an authority to control access to areas and resources in a given physical facility or computer-based information system. An access control system, within the field of physical security, is generally seen as the second layer in the security of a physical structure. Access can be granted or denied by assigning specific staff to groups or specifying role-based groups, setting schedules, and using temporary access codes. Lost cards, the need for access override and other reasons can be addressed once the bio metric database is built. This makes the access control process cost-effective to manage.
